I hate speeding tickets but I love driving. While driving in general is not that exciting, driving fast is. There seems to be a problem with it called speeding tickets. I got a speeding ticket once off the Oregon Coast for going 65 in a 30mph zone. Unfair I tell you. I am not the only person who has gotten one of those “infractions” for speed limit signs that are unfairly posted; such was the case on a road trip with my friend a while back. True story; I got off with a warning for going 90mph in a 30mph zone, passing on a double yellow in front of on coming traffic, which just so happened to be a green cop car, in a car registered in California, a drivers license issued in Washington and insurance in Arizona. I suppose if you are women and are lucky enough to get pulled over by a man, your have a better chance of getting just a warning then an actual ticket.

Now I was all dolled up at the time, which I thought influenced the cop’s decision to let me off the hook. However I am going to have to say that the cop could not prove I was speeding because it would be pretty hard to gauge my actual speed even if the cop caught me by radar since I was coming towards him. So there is a reason I got off with such obvious violations.

After reading this book I found on contesting speeding tickets, in hind sight I can say it was defiantly the lack of evidence that got me off the hook, not my smile. I have not gotten that lucky all the time but now I know I have a reliable defense when it comes to getting my tickets reduced or thrown out.

I am not likely to get that lucky again and my driving record is not exactly good, so I have to pay fortune to keep my car insured and I cannot stand driving school. When a light turns yellow, what does it mean? Good gosh it is like being in elementary school again. Besides I know the traffic laws I just have a problem when it comes to obeying them.

Obviously to avoid speeding tickets you probably should not speed, but 1. I cannot stand being behind some old man with an oxygen tank in the back of his car; and 2. Most speed limits are too slow. I got a speeding ticket in an alley once for going 10 mph. Gimmi a break! My Grandma can walk faster than that.

One of the simplest and most overlooked aspects of online marketing is that it’s not complicated. More precisely, there are many “gurus” who try to make it complicated. Aside from whatever motivation they might have to do that online profits happen as the result of one simple equation –

There are MANY ways to get traffic (visitors) to your site and cause them to take some action or “convert,” which will either result in more leads or (less frequently) result directly in more sales to your business.

So here’s the other simple rule — you only need to master 1 or 2 traffic methods and 1 or 2 conversion methods, and you will make money. You don’t need to master the entire kitchen to make a grilled cheese sandwich, and you don’t need to know EVERYTHING about internet marketing in order to add revenue to your business.

With that in mind, there are a few basic traffic techniques I’ve implemented in some of my sites and client sites that have universally and consistently WORKED. Here are a few of those methods — but remember, you only need to pick one or two:

Increasing Visitor Count

1) Twitter is a highly effective means of targeting your niche and developing the conversation with your customers and prospects. In fact, it is second to none. However, most businesses don’t know how to use Twitter effectively. They spam with “sales tweets” — “Look at the cool new thing I’m selling.” The 80/20 rule is highly effective — 80% of your tweets should be about something interesting, funny or otherwise engaging… a question of the day like “What’s for lunch?”… anything to get people talking, laughing, thinking… Also, keep it consistent and be generous with re-tweets. A few tweets a day go a long way toward establishing a rabid list of followers. The wrong thing to do is to Tweet like a madman for a day or two and then disappear for a month. Or worse, don’t reply when someone direct messages you or @messages you. That’s like ignoring someone at a dinner party when they ask you to pass the gravy. You WON’T get any dessert.

2) Video marketing — one of the fastest ways to rank your site and get lots of inbound traffic. Keep your videos consistent — don’t show up one day in a baseball cap and dark lighting, talking about the rain, and another day bouncing in a jungle gym screaming about business leads. Consistent message, consistent tone, consistent look & feel. Also, be sure to put a call to action in your video’s description, as well as the full URL of your website’s landing page, and use appropriate keywords.

3) Article marketing is an evergreen method for outstanding traffic generation, with one HUGE caveat — mix it up! Putting the same article on 400 article directories will get you nowhere fast. You will get a bump in traffic from all the inbound links until Google figures out they’re all the same article and basically count it as one link. 1) Keep it simple. The landing page has to do ONE thing — get people to ACT. For this reason, it’s been called a SINGLE ACTION PAGE. Pear it down to the bare essence of what you need the visitor to do. Consider placing a video on the page with a very simple message, “Hey thanks for stopping by for my free whizbang. Just type in your first name and e-mail address and I will rush it right over to you. In just a moment after you send your information, you’ll get an e-mail with a confirmation link. Click that link and I will instantly send your free whizbang.”

2) Direct, direct, direct. Notice the video script in #1 above — see how we instructed the user on exactly what they need to do? And then we told them what to expect next, and what they would then need to do. And we closed with a reminder of the benefit — the free whizbang.

3) Test, test, test. ALWAYS have two versions of your landing page operating at one time. You can optimize your landing page using freely available Google tools in the Web Optimizer toolbox. You really can’t go on “gut” here — the data will be you every single time. Even on PPC ads, we have literally seen the addition of a question mark in the ad increase conversion by 16.8% So test, test, test.

My Anxiety and Panic AttacksTook to Long For Me To Acknowledge

Anyone who has been misfortunate enough suffer the unpleasantness of panic attacks will have no problem relating to the anxiety build up prior to a panic attack, or even worse, a full scale panic attack in front of family or friends -who were unaware that you were suffering from the condition in the first place.

My anxiety build up’s were quite random to start with, well prior to my first few panic attacks anyway; that’s when I became consciously aware of the anxiety symptoms that I was going through and more importantly, what they would quickly lead to if they were not controlled or addressed, unfortunately for me, I took to long to accept that panic attacks affected me. Looking back, if I had accepted I was suffering anxiety and panic attacks, I could of found help and move on, because there is a solution to this horrible condition.

My first anxiety problems started after a fall out with several of my best friends at school, this affected me quite bad as I had never been involved in a fall out with friends to this extent. Within just a few weeks I found that sleeping at night was getting really hard, unwanted thoughts would eat away at my brain, going round and round my head keeping me awake into the small hours. I did not want to get up in the mornings, I found that I was avoiding hanging out with friends and just felt nervous far too often and for no reason.

The symptoms were classic anxiety looking back now, thought eating away at me, heart beating ten to the dozen, I remember thinking that it was hard to breath properly, I was not aware of what was going on around me, even though I was driving at the time, that’s when it started, my first panic attack.

The first I knew about it at the time was when a women had her hand on my shoulder telling me to relax, breath deep and slow. How embarrassing could that be, I had stopped at red lights and just totally lost control of myself.

The women (Jade) was really kind and stopped with me for quite a while whilst I regained my composure, she gave me her contact details because she understood just where I was as she had suffered anxiety problems for many years.
