Rockford Verdi Club: The Tricolore Italian Flag

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

The following history of the Italian flag is presented by the Verdi Club of Rockford, IL. The present flag of Italy was adopted in 1948. Italians call it Tricolore because it has three colors – green, white, and red. All the previous Italian flags were all designed with these three colors. There are quite a few attributions as to why these particular colors were chosen and what do they mean. The white and red come from the Cispadane Republic, while the green comes from the military uniforms. According to some people the green stands for the plains of Italy, the white for the snowy hills of the Alps, and the red for those killed in the independence wars. A more religious explanation of the colors is green – hope, white – faith, and red – charity. One thing is sure about the colors of the flag, and it is that they are very specific. The green is a fern green, the white is a bright white, and the red is a flame scarlet.

In the world there are many flags that are similar to the Italian one. The best example is the flag of Mexico. They differ in aspect ratios – Italian 2:3 and Mexican 4:7. The Mexican flag uses darker shades of both green and red and it has an emblem (Mexican coat of arms) over the white part. The Italian flag is also similar to those of Ireland, Hungary, and France.

Italians celebrate their flag on the 7th of January. Although this is an official holiday, it is not a paid one. The Tricolore is a beautiful flag and it has proudly represented Italy throughout the world.

The Verdi Club is one of the most popular Italian clubs in the Midwest! They offer a wide variety of activities for their members including a full bar, professional bocce courts, riverfront property, pool tables, and a concert hall that is available for rent. For over 89 years, the members of the Giuseppe Verdi Society have taken pride in having one of the elite social clubs in Rockford, IL.  Feel free to visit their site at http://www.RockfordVerdiClub.com.

7 Reasons why 03 Phone Numbers are the No.1 Pick for United Kingdom Businesses

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

You may have read in the news that from 1st May, T-Mobile is to introduce a flat-rate charge for its customers to call most 08 numbers. The numbers affected include 0870, 0871, 0872, 0843, 0844 and 0845 numbers and they will all cost 40 pence per minute for T-Mobile’s customers.

Many organisations use these 08 numbers in order to smarten up the way they deal with their calls. Call management features like ‘welcome messages’ allow businesses to create a professional impression from the outset, whilst ‘caller options’ enable people to choose the department or person they would like to speak with e.g. “press 1 for sales, 2 for accounts” etc.

08 numbers also allow companies to keep one phone number for life as they can be re-routed to any landline or mobile. This makes them very popular for businesses when they relocate as it means they don’t need to change stationery, letterheads etc. with their phone numbers on.

So, for companies that want to keep all of the benefits that 08 numbers offer AND offer all of their mobile callers great value – many are opting to use the new 03 phone numbers.

03 numbers were launched by Ofcom in 2007 and are exactly the same as 08-type numbers – apart from the cost to call them.

Here are 7 reasons why 03 numbers are so popular:

1. They cost the same to call as 01/02 numbers – even from a mobile (40% of all UK calls are from mobiles – Ofcom 2008). These transparent call costs mean they are ethical and trusted phone numbers.

2. Organisations can control where they receive their calls, by rerouting calls to their 03 numbers to any UK landline or even a mobile phone easily via the web/phone. This means they won’t miss out on important sales calls and enquiries.

3.  An 03 number can easily move with the organisation if it relocates.

4. There is an extensive range of easy to remember 03 numbers available.

5. It’s possible to see the geographic location of callers and the busy periods of the organisation using online call statistics packages.

6. Callers can be queued, meaning that all important calls will be answered.

7. They can often be inexpensive to run if you seek out the provider with the most competitive offering in the market.

Many businesses now use 03 numbers including Pioneer, Nikon UK, Absolute Radio (formerly Virgin Radio) and hundreds of SME’s around the country. Public bodies and charities are also choosing 03 and there is a sub-range which is especially reserved for them: 0300 numbers.

So, 03 numbers are fast becoming the phone number of choice for organisations up and down the UK. The above points should offer a starting point as to the main reasons why.

The 10 Rules of Search Engine Optimisation

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

Most of the time when we meet a new customer we are asked about search engine optimisation. We do our best to educate customers that SEO is all about intelligent work and not just adding random keywords and registering to all directories possible. I’m writing this article to reach to the search engine optimisation customers and to help them distinguish the amateurs from the pros. Some website design companies will be experts in SEO as well as being skilled designers, but do not assume that this is always the case.

1: No Top Ranking Guarantees

The only formula to increase your search engine rankings is by playing by the rules and hard work. If your SEO promised you “Top rank in the leading search engines in ten days” then you should look for a new SEO. There are no shortcuts. High ranking in the natural search results will take time. Hard work is imperative, particularly for the content on your site and building links to your web site.

2: Rating is not always the goal

Ask yourself what will a top ranking bring you? Most business sectors are concerned with growing sales on the internet or repeated web traffic. Ranking for the correct keywords is important. There are SEOs who would attempt to display high rankings for keywords that are irrelevant to your business or ones that will not convert into sales.

3: Know your competition

“Rank” is relative position and more so in the SEs natural outcomes. How good you do in the SE result is a function of how much effort you’ve put into evaluating the competition. Evaluate keywords, back links and keyword density. But make sure to never imitate your competitors.

4: Use a search engine friendly design

A search friendly website design is must for any productive site. Be sure you have search engine friendly domains and don’t use extended URLs with query strings. You should also make certain that your programmers and designers stick to worldwide coding criteria.

5: Choose the right keywords

You must search for the right keywords prior to targeting. There are tools that can help you with this. It’s crucial to know the number of hits for a keyword in the last a few days, previous month and last six months. One should also check the number of online pages that are targeting this keyword. It’s suggested to begin a campaign with keywords with limited competition and sufficient search volume.

6: Write good articles

Even if your site is technically flawless for search engine crawlers, it will not give you any benefit unless you also fill it with good content. Informative articles result in repeat visitors and increases the probability of conversions. Informative articles are factual and attracts the target buyer. The page should have desired action integrated in the articles. You must ensure that the content is fresh. Keep adding and editing the content regularly.

7: Exercise a good hyper linking scheme

You must hyperlink in the correct context within the site and to the additional sites. Use relevant anchor text when linking to internal pages in your site and make sure that there are no dead links.

8: Write separate meta description and keyword tags for each page of your site

Whilst not infuencing the rankings, meta description tags are important because they are used in the search engine results pages to summarise the subject of the website page. Well written meta description tags can increase conversion rates.

9: Add links that point to your website

The most important factor in search engine rankings is the amount and quality of links that you have pointing to your website. Over a period of time, you should be constantly building new links to your website by submitting to website directories, article directories and blog websites.

10: Ask the experts, if you need to.

If you’ve the aptitude there are two modes to learn. Gain knowledge from your own errors and learning form other’s mistakes. If you’ve the time and can wait for the online earnings do it yourself. If you wish to get on track now it’s perhaps helpful to consult the SEO experts.

Post Prom Party Safety and Fun!

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

A Post Prom is an all night, alcohol and drug free party for the Senior Class students, after their Senior Prom.  They usually go “Party Hopping” in their efforts to celebrate with as many of their classmates as possible.  Post Prom events provide a safe alternative to Party Hopping; it keeps the seniors off the roads and prevents any of them from becoming a statistic. It also allows the parents to rest easy knowing their son/daughter is safely celebrating.

The celebration begins immediately after the prom.  The students report to the destination and are locked in until the early morning hours. The Committee, which is made up of the parents of the senior class, organize a fun filled evening that the Seniors will not forget.  They transfer the school into a fairy tale land that they will not recognize.  Usually themed, they transform the hallways, restrooms and other areas into an unrecognized place.  They serve a variety of foods and snacks for the students through out the night. They rent fun attractions, such as Interactive Inflatables, Mechanical Rides, CD Recording Studios, Music Videos and much more to keep the students busy until the early morning hours.

Some fun rentals may include a Mechanical Bull rental, Laser Tag, Rock Walls, Sumo Wrestling, Giant Slides, Bungee Runs, Velcro Walls, Human Foosball, Human Spheres, Inflatable Derby’s, and 3D Twister.  Another great section could be “An Inflatable Rental Game Room”.

Included in this game room they could have set up a Pool Table, Air hockey, WII’s, Shuffle Board, Skeeball Machines, Pinball Machines, 12 in 1 Arcade’s, and Ping Pong tables.  Then there could be a Photo area. That area could consist of Dancing Heads, Photo Booth’s, Photo Viewers and Photo Key Chains. This could be a great way for the students to take home a souvenir of the night they will talk about for years to come.  There could be live Entertainment walking around through out the night entertaining the students such as Magicians, Hypnotist, Stilt Walkers, Caricatures and Comedian’s.  Some Fun Activity Booths which could include Wax Hands, CD Recording Studio’s, Cash Cubes and Airbrush Tattoo’s.

In the past, I have used The Event Experts which is located in Folcroft, Pennsylvania.  They are a full service party planning company that handles everything that one could possible want and need to help plan a Post Prom Event. Their employees where very professional and knowledgeable, which made our event a total success.  There was nothing this company could not handle. Their ideas on fundraising were extremely helpful. I would use this company for my private parties as well as any future business event’s that I would be involved in.

The Nitro Remote Control Vehicle Revolution is Here

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

For those who interested in RC cars etc. and who have not seen or tried a Nitro RC Cars, truck or buggy then you are missing out on so much fun.

Nitro Remote Controlled Cars for example can be built to run at awesome speeds of up to 150 mph. Yes, you read that correctly. Now I know those are plain crazy speeds and should only be done in a controlled track environment but it goes to show just how fast these little speed demons can be.

And of course the fun doesn’t just stop there. Nowadays you can also play around with Nitro Buggies or how about a Nitro Monster Truck.

The best way to enjoy these great ‘boys toys’ is to initially start practicing on a flat open areas. That way you can get used to the control and the sheer speed. So, something like a big car parking lot is ideal. Just make sure it’s a quiet day and not many people around as they sure make a hell of a noise.

Once you get a few weeks of good practice under your belt then you should try moving off-road. Once again find a reasonably flat area and then practice as much as you can. Obviously the handling off-road is a lot more tricky and challenging and the speeds at which you can do cornering etc is so much different. Exactly like a real car but at least if you push to hard you know you’re not going to get injured.

Lots of people then move on to full on RC Car/Truck or Nitro Buggy racing. This is where the adrenaline really gets going. Racing fellow Nitro vehicle buddies around a track which may have lots of jumps, bumps etc is so much fun.

So, what are you waiting for? Get online and purchase your first Nitro RC Car, Truck and buggy and let the fun begin. Beats your Scalextric any day!

Using Tea to Cook

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

With all the known health benefits of tea any supplemental mode to take it into your eating routine is good. An additional benefit of seasoning with Camellia sinensis is that it is an efficient technique to add or enhance the flavor of a meal without adding undesirable elements like fat, calories or sodium, that occasionally are a piece of different flavor amplifiers.

Although cooking with Camellia sinensis might seem to be a different trend, it has in reality been about almost as long as the beverage itself. The legendary oolong tea itself features a history as rich and fascinating as the individuals who produced it.

The Chinese have been employing black tea to simmer and smoke dishes for hundreds of years. The Japanese have been loving a dish which is made by pouring green tea over rice ahead of serving. Additionally, the British have been utilising tea leaf to flavor tea patties and to stew dried fruit for ages.

Many Asian cultures have applied tea to facilitate maintaining a reasonable equilibrium in their dieting in addition to merely seasoning their tasty meals. For example, using wu long tea weight loss benefits or green tea as an anti-oxident.

Popular cooks have been widening these uses of tea and determining that just little additions are able to lend a fullness to meals without overwhelming the proper flavor of the meal. As an example, attempt to a tablespoonful of English Breakfast tea to a dressing, or a Jasmine tea serving or 2 to rice as it is being cooked. A formosa wu long tea can lend an innovative flavor to otherwise ordinary meals.

Cooking with tea doesn’t need to be limited to the appetizer or essential course. Tea Leaf may likewise lend a complex taste to dessert. Vibrant black teas like Darjeeling have rich tones that assist to fortify the flavor of cocoa desserts. Green teas are able to add an oomph to silky desserts while they also are inclined to calm the tart flavor of a citrus fruit sorbet. Although sweet-scented teas such as chai are able to impart a pleasant flavor to vibrant dishes like cheesecake or frosting.

Is Marketing with Email Still An Effective Option For MLM?

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

With ISP filters, spam traps, and hundreds of spam emails you receive each day, is email marketing still a viable option to grow and build your affiliate business? Others may not agree with me, but I would have to say, Yes.

I remember about 5 or 6 years ago importing approximately 600 MLM Autoresponder Leads into my autoresponder and enrolling about 8 – 10 people a month into my affiliate business. Today, if you had 500 times that many leads, you may get a couple of prospects, and maybe, maybe, one enrollment. 2009 has different rules, but that doesn’t mean that email marketing is dead.

It is kind of obvious that the biggest change from a few years ago to know is Numbers. With the explosion of technology, texting, and social networking, to have any kind of results you are going to need greater numbers to get results today. With the millions and millions of emails circulating on a regular basis, you need massive numbers to get results.

To bring this to a conclusion, is email marketing still worth your time and money for building your network marketing business? Without a doubt. You have to increase your capacity and get more numbers of MLM Autoresponder Leads you are bulk emailing. Marketing with Email is a worthwhile means for network marketing business.

The Importance of Staff Recruitment

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

It is a well known business truism that one bad employee can undo the work of two good employees without even trying! They can be your worst nightmare or they can be almost as valuable to your business as you are and sometimes more so. Controlling them and directing their energies is a demanding and challenging task and one that has baffled and concerned me on more occasions than wish to remember.

The problems with employees are varied, overstaffing, understaffing, disputes, low morale, misdirected enthusiasm, delegation, job suitability, hiring, firing etc.

Right about now you’re thinking “I don’t need employees they’re too much trouble!”. Wrong, if you are going to expand and grow you will eventually need help, employees provide that help. As I have found over the years, some of my employees have saved “my bacon” on more than one occasion and literally can’t do without them.

Many successful companies regard their employees as their most valuable commodity and even some countries will claim their most precious resource is their people, Japan for example. This is a philosophy that you should adopt, because if your customers are treated well by your staff the profits will look after themselves, because remember, it doesn’t matter how cheap you are, if you treat customers badly, you will never see them again. And disgruntled customers have big mouths – remember that.

Again with anything, it requires planning and employees are no different. A staffing plan should consider the following:

  • The present and future requirements of the business.
  •

  • The business functions required to meet your objectives.
  •

  • The number of employees required to perform these functions.
  •

  • The type of people needed (skills, qualifications, personality type).
  •

  • Where are you going to find these employees (competitors, friends, family, advertise)
  •

  • Do the jobs allocated have a practical and worthwhile purpose.
  •

  • Can the jobs allocated, be done in a more efficient way.
  •

  • Holiday staffing requirements, which employees can go on holiday at the same time without throwing the business into total chaos.

When considering these issues remember you should always find the person to fit the job not the job to fit the person. The trickiest part of employment issues is hiring. One of the main contributors to staff turnover is poor staff selection by employers.

The lesson here is to be careful, be very careful when it comes to selecting the right people and at the same time make yourself aware of the anti-discrimination legislation otherwise you may find yourself on the losing end of a dispute.

I’ve heard that 80% of employers lose these disputes and must pay damages or offer the person the job – great isn’t it? – your idea, your business, your risk, your personal choice., your money and “they” dictate who you can and can’t employ!

Here are a few tips to help you through the “staff selection minefield”:

  • Before placing an advertisement, ensure that it is clear and straight to the point as regards experience and job description.
  •

  • Leave personal preferences out, don’t mention age, sex, marital status, race or anything like that – it’s not allowed.
  •

  • Define the job role on paper stating very clearly the functions to be performed including any menial tasks as these are the ones that seem to cause the most problems. Also, state things like hours and any unusual conditions and experience and/or qualifications required. so there can be no dispute on what was agreed to at the interview. Give a copy to each interviewee.
  •

  • Pre-plan the interviews by listing relevant questions to ask each interviewee so you get an “apples v’s apples” comparison.
  •

  • Always reference check, ask questions about personality, attitude to work etc.
  •

  • One thing I always thought worked well was asking a few technical or test questions. If they were offended by your asking these questions then they should be avoided at all costs as they are probably people who are too tightly wrapped or can’t handle a little pressure and you don’t need employees like that. If they answer the questions and get them wrong they were obviously either nervous or they didn’t know the answer.
  •

  • If you think they were nervous give them a little longer and reassure them that being nervous won’t harm their chances at getting the job and this generally produces positive results.

Once you have completed the interviews and made your decision, advise the successful applicant by phone and then send a letter of confirmation with details like salary, starting date, position etc. Also, send each unsuccessful applicant a letter thanking them for applying and for their effort. Courtesy goes a long way to building goodwill within a business.
